There are countless ideas and proposals for teenagers and young people, many of which don’t glorify God, from movies to music and tweets to texts. How can a godly young man maintain his feet on the straight road in the middle of all of the chaos?

1. Following God is Worth the Effort
It’s not always simple to live for and obey God; however, it’s well worth it. “You will be my people if you obey My voice,” declares God. Make sure you follow all of the instructions you are given in the Bible so that all will go well for you.
Just like a good father provides freedom and limits for his children, God does the same for His disciples. You have the choice between life and death and blessing and curse. Therefore, you should choose life so that your generations might also live. Choosing to follow the world’s ways is a curse while choosing God’s ways results in abundant life. It is common for Christians to be enticed to live and worship like other people in the Bible. You have to hold tight and move forward in a Godly manner.
Ungodly ways are not the ways of the world, and you must be careful not to follow them. As long as you focus on God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, everything will fall into place. Putting God first means you don’t have to worry about losing out on the world’s offerings.
2. Be More Familiar with the Bible than You Are ESPN
A person can only learn about God and His character by studying the Bible, which serves as a guide and manual. However, only a limited number of topics are covered in the Bible. There were no such things as movies or cell phones back in Biblical times! Even if a given scenario isn’t addressed in the Bible, reading the Bible regularly will give you a better grasp of God’s character and help you make wiser life choices.
The Bible is a lamp for your feet and a light for your way. We can make God-honoring choices and decisions because of God’s Word. Do not conform to this world. Be converted by renewing your mind that you can prove what the acceptable and perfect will of God is. Taking in the Word of God renews your thinking.
Paul elaborates that all Scripture is given by God’s inspiration and is valuable for doctrine. It is profitable for correction, reproof, and instruction in righteousness. Both the Old and New Testaments teach us how to live, speak, treat others, and know God from Genesis to Revelation.
Bread might be a physical necessity in many countries; however, the Bible should be a spiritual necessity for every Christian. You must regularly consume God’s Word to maintain your spiritual health.
3. Purity is Not an Option
It’s incredibly easy to find and view offensive photographs and other media these days. They even appear on billboards and magazine covers. However, it is God’s desire that we keep our thoughts and feelings pure. As Timothy advises, “Let no one look down on your youth; rather, lead by word, example, deed, love, spirit, faith, and purity among the believers.
The underlying principle behind God’s restriction of sexual relations to marriage is unplanned pregnancies, infections, and grief. The consequences of sex outside of marriage are severe. Sexual closeness is also meant to cement your relationship with your partner spiritually. Be aware that God sets boundaries for your protection and well-being. It is your choice whether or not to follow those boundaries.
4. Have a Role Model
God resists the arrogant but gives favor to the humble. Therefore, all of you must submit to one another and be humble. As difficult as it may be, God wants you to ask for his help and guidance when you need it.
According to Proverbs, a man sharpens the countenance of his companion as iron sharpens iron. It is a metaphor for how one man can influence another through conversation. It is possible to make godly decisions when you allow godly individuals to speak into your lives and teach you.
Start looking for a spiritual father figure in your life. Don’t be afraid to ask God if you don’t already have one in your life. You are not seeking a flawless person, but someone you like and would like to copy. Show respect to individuals in positions of authority even if you disagree with their decisions.
You might find it difficult to submit to people in positions of authority if you have strong disagreements with them. God requires you to respect and honor those in positions of authority, including pastors and teachers in the church and outside of it.
5. Develop Sound Monetary Management Skills
God has nothing against Christians being wealthy; He encourages it! However, money can’t compete with him. Money can have a great hold on your hearts; therefore, you need to be sure that you control your money, not that it controls you.
In this day and age, it’s important to remind the wealthy that they shouldn’t be arrogant or put their faith in speculative wealth but rather in the real God who provides abundantly for their needs. You need to remember to put your faith in God, not money or possessions. You need not be concerned about your basic requirements, such as food, housing, and clothing, to be content.
Understanding begins with reverence for the truth; however, fools scorn teaching and the fear of the Lord. Proverbs is a treasure trove of Christian money-saving advice. The Bible might not be precise regarding credit cards; however, it does teach a lot about money management.
6. Don’t Simply Think about the Short Term
Ignoring what you are doing today will either set you up for success or failure in the future. Make long term goals. When you are busy with school, work, friends and family, you must not allow the urgent to distract you from what’s important. Be careful; God is not fooled; because whatever a man sows, he will also reap. Sow excellent seeds today, and get a bountiful harvest down the road.
