The Witness Weblog Rules
We stress that this is an open forum, and there is room for all voices. One can email a blog user (henceforth referred to as a "blogger") in response to a post by clicking on his or her email link provided above the text. A blogger must ask the permission of the respondent before posting that email content online. Once permission has been granted, a blogger can copy and paste email comments into a pre-existing post under the "edit" function or put it in a new post entirely. More info on this will be provided once a blogger receives a log-in account from The Witness editorial staff.
Respectful disagreement is a part of discourse, but any criticism should be leveled at the ideas expressed rather than the individual who wrote them. Harmful and abusive language as well as personal attacks will not be tolerated. The Witness reserves the right to remove such inappropriate comments and contributors from the weblog.
Witness discussions are primarily intended for interactive conversation. You agree not to create posts that consist substantially of material copied from another source. You agree to respect intellectual property rights when posting on the weblog. You agree not to post copyrighted or trademarked images. You agree not to post articles or other text from another publication (copyright or not) except as follows: you may quote a small sample of it, credit the source, post a hyperlink to the author's original, and include your own comments in your own words. You may quote sacred texts in the context of discussing them, but include your own comments in your own words. Permission for exceptions to this rule must be obtained from The Witness staff.
We have the right to suspend or terminate your weblog membership for violation of the above rules. We have the right to reprint from Witness weblog discussions any post or portion of a post (along with the username of the member who posted it) somewhere else on the site or in any other Witness medium.
The perspectives appearing in this section of The Witness website do not necessarily reflect the editorial views of The Witness and the Episcopal Church Publishing Company. A Witness staff member will moderate.
